Monster Fire - California Ablaze

In 2003 there were some pretty devastating fires that wiped out 100's of homes in San Diego county - what caused it? A hunter who became lost from his party tried to get their attention by starting a small fire.

Fast forward 2007 - within three days of the anniversary of that bad fire that cost the State of California a few billion dollars - and here we are once again with an unfolding tragedy taking place.

It started out yesterday, when we heard there was a small fire in Ramona which is quite a ways up the road from us toward the desert. Next thing we know - door bell is going constantly, and someone banging on our door at 2:30am this morning! Our Neighbor - alerting us that the fire has become a monster and is heading our way. We woke up, turned to the local news channel, and started to follow this impending disaster taking place. At 4:30am we received our "reverse 911" phone call urging us to pack, get ready for evacuation and sit tight waiting for the Authorities to give the word to get out.

It is now 11:00am - the sun is completely hidden by the thick smoke and the fire is 0% contained due to high Santa Anna winds that typically come howling towards the coast off the desert. This wind is strong - 50 miles an hour constant gusts, usually dies down at sunset but this time it has been unrelenting, howling through the night adding fuel to the fire.

We took a drive to the office, and couldn't believe the difference in temperature and visibility. Clear blue skies, not a breeze at all, very strange.

Being back at home now, we have been informed that if it becomes necessary the authorities are going to turn off the gas and electric for safety issues. Added to that we have been asked to stay off cell phones to leave as much of the airwaves free and open for the crew that are battling this monster. Sadly, the aircraft that do the drops are unable to take off due to these raging winds, and poor visibility. Crews and resources are being flown in from neighboring States, and by tomorrow will have more than 15 helicopters in the air doing drops, as well as fixed wing - if the wind stops.

We live in San Marcos, so you will see one of the visuals of the area below that will give you some idea as to location and spread of the fire. The current wind direction is westerly which is in our path. So...we are sitting tight, waiting for the evacuation orders to come from the authorities. The news is grim, many homes have been leveled - the stats are going to be high...

Here are some images I have taken today starting with early morning to current (11:00am)

Wow, that's crazy man. They should really try to do something to fix that.

Just briefly I would like to give you information for my attempts and the refusal of all the LA County, LA City Fire departments, and two of the City Council Members and the County Council Member, to let them know of a method and a technique of Fire Fighting that will eliminate most of the devastation's we witness in the last several days, LAST YEAR AND YEAR BEFORE. and the vaporizing of all surroundings and Residential Structures. As I am writing this e-mail "TWO FIREMEN LOST THEIR LIVES JUST TODAY"
This is what I have written in the past 2 years several times, and politely the departments "OR THE INDIVIDUALS I HAVE ON RECORD" refused even to go ahead with simple tests that will hardly involve any resources in comparison to including the losses of life we see.
Bellow is my first letter of introduction: Please read.
I have been watching NOW for about 2 years, the devastating fires engulfing thousands of acres forest and hundreds of homes, and the work of the firefighters are just NOT nearly possible to STOP this incineration. For more then a year NOW I have contacted all three Fire departments, " LA CITY, LA COUNTY and VENTURA COUNTY"
I HAVE CONTACTED THE OFFICE Of: Supervisor ZEV YAROSLAVSKY,
Supervisor MIKE ANTONOVITCH, who forwarded my letters to the LA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT and Department Chiefs, and all I am getting in response is that "my proposal is very innovative, but there are environmental obstacles that will make it almost impossible for being applied." Environmental Obstacles" ???? They must be Kidding"
I asked, what environmental obstacles?, The entire area under fire is incinerated to the ground NOT TO MENTION MULTIPLE STRUCTURES AND HUMAN LIFE.
Bellow is my written proposal to all the above mentioned individuals and offices.
My experience comes from being weapons and exclusive specialist and safety. With the use of thin walled plastic tubing diameter of 2" X 15' or 20' feet lengths are filled with Industrial low Grade Explosive (Dynamite) sticks, or in bulk powder. The tubes are capped on each side with holes on each cap side for fuses and detonators inside the tube well into the explosive compound and the fuse going out of the hole about 6" - 7". These tubes will be launched from a device attached on a helicopter or the aircraft that is in a similar fashion dropping the water. Using controlled explosive in the area of the fire is NOT dangerous, since the fire is destroying everything on its path and around anyway. This controlled explosive use in length after detonation will totally vaporize/extinguish the TARGET FIRE; in addition, consecutive use of these explosive units will not give a chance for re-igniting. Explosive Speed is at 23,000 feet per second, the area of the explosion expands with that speed and vaporizes the flames, after the explosion vacuum is created in the center of the explosion, which reverses it’s effect to normalize the air distribution. This method can be also used with thin walled 2" rubber hose in longer lengths and there is even a way of manual handling of the units with adequate safety precautions, considering the danger of the fires of this magnitude.
I had also attached several graphic schematics and drawings that are in preliminary stages, and can be improved in design, # of plastic tubes to be release with precision over the fire area, ease and quick release from an aircraft or a Helicopter.
I believe several training trials will be very beneficial to experience the effectiveness of this type of fire fighting technic, with the use of tubular explosives. I would be willing to meet with you for more detailed process and design proposals when you reach your decision for testing this method.
I hope this e-mail will be taken very seriously even if it is "to whom it may concern".
PLEASE PASS THIS ON IF YOU CAN,.. THIS WILL ELIMINATE MOST OF THE USELESS FIRE FIGHTING AND SAVE THOUSANDS OF ACRES AND LIVES
